Father of Rancho Cucamonga teens killed in crash speaks out
A Rancho Cucamonga community is in mourning Saturday after a horrific car crash
claimed the lives of a brother and sister in the late afternoon on Friday.
Elias and Sarah Cruz, 17 and 14 respectively, were killed when Elias,
who was driving, lost control of a car around 4:25 p.m.
Friday before crashing into a pole and then a tree in the area of Wilson and Haven Avenues.
Both teens, student-athletes at Los Osos High School, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third teen, 17, was also in the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
In the wake of the unthinkable, Elias and Sarah’s father Rey Cruz spoke to KTLA 5’s Omar Lewis on Saturday morning
as a large crowd gathered at the crash site to pay their respects.
